Honest Foods is now accredited under the Good Business Charter — one of a growing number of steps we’ve taken to make sure our values aren’t just something we say, but something that’s independently checked.
The Good Business Charter isn’t a marketing badge you can buy — it’s a framework built around ten specific commitments a business has to genuinely meet, covering real living wages, fair hours and contracts, employee wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, tax transparency, ethical sourcing, and environmental responsibility. It was set up to give customers, partners and employees a straightforward way to tell which businesses are actually walking the walk.
A few of these components are ones we’ve already built our reputation on. We’re a London Living Wage employer. We’ve been an official Albert supplier for years — Albert is the film and TV industry’s own sustainability certification, and it’s shaped how we do almost everything on a shoot, from recyclable and compostable packaging to running electric vans and cargo bikes for our deliveries.
Diversity and inclusion is one we take seriously in practice, not just on paper. Our hiring reaches beyond the usual job boards — including a partnership with the 999 Club, a South East London charity supporting people into stable employment — and every job description is checked for gender-neutral language, with a “Day-One” flexible working policy built in to support parents and carers from day one. For anyone joining us with limited English, we fully fund ESOL classes, scheduled flexibly around shifts, so language is never a barrier to safety, progression, or feeling part of the team.
Signing up to the Good Business Charter was less about changing what we do, and more about putting our existing standards in front of an independent framework and coming through it properly.
Responsible business isn’t a checklist for us — it’s just how we run the kitchen, from how we treat our own team to how we get food out the door. Why does this matter if you’re thinking about working with us? Because “sustainable” and “ethical” get used loosely in this industry, and it’s genuinely hard to tell from the outside which businesses mean it. Being able to point to an independent charter — alongside our Albert accreditation for productions, and our Living Wage and Good Work Standard status — is our way of making that easier to check, not just easier to say.
