Honest Foods Shakshuka

Shakshuka is perfect for so many occasions; brunch, a quick and healthy lunch or dinner, and the best thing is you probably have most of these ingredients at home already.

Preparation time- 20-30 mins

Serves 2


  • 1 small red onion
  • half a pepper
  • 3 diced tomatoes
  • 1 clove of crushed garlic
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 4 eggs
  • parsley
  • coriander


  1. Preheat the oven to 180c
  2. Slice the onion, dice the peppers and tomatoes
  3. In a pan add the pepper, onion and garlic with a couple of spoons of olive oil and cook till softened
  4. Add the cumin and paprika to the pan, add chilli if you would like to add more heat
  5. Then add in the chopped tomatoes and pop a lid on for 5-10 mins
  6. Chop the parsley and coriander and add
  7. Make four small holes for the eggs and gentle crack your eggs into the holes and season the top of your eggs
  8. Place into the oven for around 10 minutes, checking that the eggs aren’t over cooking
  9. Lastly, sprinkle over some chopped parsley and coriander and serve, to accompany a slice of sourdough and olive oil to dip into the eggs and mop up the sauce. Enjoy!
